Music at our academy engages, inspires and challenges pupils. It equips them with the knowledge and skills to appraise, perform, compose and record their musical experiences.

We teach music weekly and children an opportunity to learn to play instruments as part of the curriculum. In addition to this, we have a wider range of tuition opportunities.

We celebrate pupil’s enthusiasm for music through the opportunity to audition for our Key Stage 2 choir who perform at the School Proms in St George’s Hall. We also hold annual nativities and end of year performances that include musical performances. Children take part in weekly whole-school singing assemblies. Our Year 4s also take part in the Delta Music festival where they will perform with their ukeleles.

For the children who take part in the Rocksteady lessons the performance for parents will take place on Tuesday 16th July 2024 at 9am.

Our curriculum plan runs from Nursery all the way through to Year 6. The curriculum builds progressively, so that children know and learn more.
