School Council and school leadership
At Ryecroft, we believe that leadership is an important skill for pupils to acquire. As a result, we provide diverse opportunities to take a lead in everyday learning. In September we will have a school council who, alongside our pupil voice committees, evaluate our school and use Council meetings to discuss issues such as safeguarding, how pupils learn and gather pupils’ views on their well being.
Pupils will also be delegated key roles such as running our reward shop or setting up sports activities at break time. This encourages children to take ownership of our school as a collective enterprise, which we all contribute to and try to improve.
Our school council members will campaign to be elected by their peers, using their persuasion and oracy skills.
